This is MTP! by Choppers Garage Malaysia

MTP stands for Mini Trans Peninsular tour, or I heard some say the Malaysian Trans Peninsular tour, I'm not exactly sure which one is better, but I was fortunate enough to be invited to join this annual event over a weekend last September, organized annually by Choppers Garage Malaysia and as usual, I was thrilled to be on the road again!

A chopper is a type of motorcycle which is modified from its original form or being built from scratch hence the name a chopped down motorcycle and often customised by a talented craftsman. Each bike is unique and each bike is special in its own way and each one, is one of a kind. Choppers Garage's Mr Joe "Hungryghost" is one excellent craftsman in producing such work of art, whom I get to know better throughout this trip. Joe is a man with such dedication in choppers and he work through his bone to get the job done. I have the deepest respect for the man and his work.

This is a picture of his garage located in Puchong.

The MTP is running on its fifth year, and the plan was to round the peninsular from central Kuala Lumpur to east bound on the East Coast Highway (Lebuhraya Pantai Timur), then from the end of the highway, go up north while enjoying the magnificent view of one the most beautiful beaches in Asia. On the next day, the tour continues from Tanah Merah, Kelantan heading west, riding the scenic hills and beautiful valleys of the Malaysia mountains, and ends on another high note in Penang. On its last day, the convoy rides to the end of the trip back in KL on the sunday.

Are you a real hard core rider, or just a key board warrior. Put your words into action by getting on the bike and ride.

The party flagged off at about 7.30 am in the morning on Friday from the very frequented RV point for many east bound riders, the BHP petrol station at Gombak with more than 25 bikes, it was a real magnificent sight.

The group took attendance and had a roll out briefing in the morning, talked about ride safety and approximate locations where we would be stopping. The first day would cover over 650 km and they had a long way ahead of them. The convoy on-the-bike at about 7.30 am and moments later we reached Temerloh rest stop where we were met with another group of riders. By then, the group was assembling more than 25 bikes and I was getting really excited to see such a big group.

Even mama biker with her pretty daughter showed up reminding me to go slow. They are posing here with the zebra. Check out Zyke's site here

Finally, here's a video I made for the trip.

At the end, I had to turn back and headed for KL at about 1 pm when the group was refueling and rode on the trunk road for about an hour, while they continue on heading for Tanah Merah.

Later on the trip, I saw these pictures posted on my phone.

The group pose for picture at the Penarik Beach.

More bike photos on the beach.

A must stop for bikers rest stop on the puncak Titiwangsa mountain range on the 4, Jalan Gerik - Pasir Puteh.

This was my favourite photo from the trip, cropped from my video. The zebra is seen here leading the pack.
