I was wandering what people always say about JB food, the kuey Teow Kia. I honestly did not know what it was, until the last trip I took the kids to Legoland, I went for a mid night supper hunting and I pass by this joint by chance. I think this is called Kuey Chap in Penang.
Woon Kiang restaurant, living up to its name, I suppose.
Look at all these intestines.
The dish is made famous by eating it together with duck meat.

Cheong Kee Beef Noodle Restaurant - June 2014
Fancy a good bowl of beef noodle in the Klang area. Look no further, Cheong Kee answers to your plea to a good bowl of beef noodle just a few minutes off Bukit Raja at Taman Berkeley.
The type of beef noodle here is the soupy type which is similar to those from Tangkak. Cheong Kee is as good as the one from Tangkak, if not better.
They were featured in the local Chinese dailies some time ago.
Other than beef noodles, they have other options i.e. curry noodle & CKT.
A change of career?
Address is at Lebuh Bangau, you can't miss it.
This is the beef ball I think.
And the intestines.
I will normally have my noodle with ice coffee.
You may ask for "special spicy chili sauce" from the boss. But be caution as it is really spicy.
This is the noodle. Taste good.

MTP 2014 - Day 3 - Changlun - Perlis - Butterworth - Penang Island - Kuala Lumpur
We had some very nice Thai food at Waterview restaurant the night before and started off day 3 on a lower key.
We only fully geared at about 11 am and off we went to cross our border.
Here's a video I put together for the trip.

The group arrived the Perlis border at about noon. After that we proceed to Penang via Butterworth.
We got on the ferry.
What else to eat in Penang. Hawker food of course.
After lunch, we took the new Penang 2nd bridge to get back on the mainland. We parted ways at Simpang Pulai here. It was raining the whole way.

MTP 2014 - Day 2 - Kuala Terengganu - Jerteh - Jeli - Gerik - Baling - Gurun - Changlun
Day 2 of MTP flagged off at Batu Burok beach with a sexy picture of all riders with our new club flag.
Entering Kelantan at Pasih Puteh. Location here.
Morning Tea break at Machang on the 4. Location here. The morning ride to this location was refreshing as the 3 from Kuala Terengganu to Setiu covers some very nice high speed corners.
After tea time, we passed Jeli and ride on to the mountains. Here we are. This is one of my many times to this location. Titiwangsa rest stop.
Getting slightly sentimental here.
On the 4 from Jeli to Gerik is just corners after corners. Pure biker's bliss.
Blue sky with lots of greens, beautiful day to ride.
This is a scary location to take picture. We took a quick one and on the bike we went. Location here.
Baautiful Tasik Banding.
Here is photogenic Winter.
Winter on his ER6n.
We stopped at Gerik for lunch and then head towards Gurun on the A173. It was a beautiful roads with very able high speed corners. Proceed with caution. We headed from Baling to Jeniang and it was a very hot afternoon we didn't stop for pictures. However, once we reach the north south highway, our good friend Ray dropped his wallet and the 3 of us had to turn back to look for it. An hour of search later, we found cash on the highway but there were no wallet. Piece of advise, never keep your wallet in a zipper pocket thinking that you will zip it every single time.
Way point for Day 2 is as per below.

MTP 2014 - Day 1 - KL - Seremban - Tangkak - Muadzam Shah - Pekan - Kuantan - Paka - Kuala Terengganu
The plan was to make a trip around Malaysia - ala Chopper Garage's Malaysia Trans Peninsula MTP.
All pictures and videos are shot using my Samsung Galaxy S 4 and Nikon D7000 on my Nikkor 35mm f1.8.
The date was set on a Saturday in May, and as usual with me planning the route, Ray and Johnny to get the rider's list. The riders were Johnny, Ray, Winter, Steven, Alan, Me (leader) and Horace (sweeper).
Basically the plan was to cross all 12 peninsula states within 3 days, from KL on the NSE down south to Johor riding pass Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Melaka, then from Johor head east towards Pahang and bunk at Kuala Terengganu on day 1. Head towards Danok on day 2 from Kuala Terengganu riding into Kelantan's Jerteh and Jeli, then up the mountains (where I would call Malaysia's version of thousand corners) from Jeli to Baling - 120 kms of non stop pure bliss with beautiful scenery and of course, beautiful roads, then to Gurun up north and stay over night at the border on day 2 then head back home on day 3 passing Perlis, Kedah, and Penang.
Sound simple, isn't it?
A week before the ride I have called for a meeting to discuss the route and details. My version of group riding guidelines is as per below. My mandarin is graded F so it is direct from google translate.

This was the day 1 route - total we rode 690 km from KL to reach Kuala Terengganu. I could recommend this ride for groups who are discipline and would enjoy the scenery in the afternoon by riding by the beach. The route would pass some very nice beaches like Teluk Cempedak, Cherating and the famous Tanjung Jara in the afternoon.
This was the first rest stop for breakfast at Tangkak. We had roti canai for breakfast at about 8.00 am.
We started riding after breakfast towards Segamat via Tangkak.

Alan with this Shark Race R pro.
Johnny on his Naza Blade (re-badged Hyosung GT250R)
Alan on his beautiful Kawasaki Ninja 250.
Horace on his Yamaha XJ6 Diversion.
Group stops for lunch at Telok Cempedak for lunch. It rained in the morning an hour before we reach here.
We arrived at the border into Terengganu before Chukai, Kemaman. GPS location is here.
We took a break at a local coffee shop at Paka. GPS location is here.
Paka is a small fishing village. But later on I found out that this town house the largest IPP Independent Power Producer in Malaysia.

Beautiful public beach. Location here.
I really like this photo. We were riding on the 3.
And then we reach Marang beach.

We stayed at Batu Burok Beach resort for the first night. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay in this hotel as there are lots of mosquitoes. But the location is just right smack in the middle of Kuala Terengganu and the hotel is nice enough to let us park at the main lobby area which is quite secure.
We had dinner here at China town. Food was so-so, considering this is a local tourist spot.
We went back after dinner and slept early for day 2.
